Rochester, N.Y. (October 31th) —On October 29th Bryant & Stratton College (BSC) was awarded the Veteran Education Champion Award by the Veteran’s Business Council at their Expo and Matchmaker Event held at the Rochester Plaza Hotel.  The College was recognized for this honor based on the work they do with their veteran’s students, as well as the support they provide to the veteran’s community in the Greater Rochester Area.

In 2014, the college’s support to date has included hosting a Veteran’s Benefits Fair in partnership with the Veteran’s Outreach Center and a Mental Health Summit in partnership with the VA of Canandaigua, as well as other high value, supportive components for area veterans.

Through a partnership with the VITAL program, representatives from the VA of Canandaigua provide additional veteran student support, by holding weekly office hours at each the two Rochester campuses.  Relationship building and peer support takes place through Veteran’s Clubs.  BSC participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, is a Principles of Excellence School and is part of the 8 Keys to Veterans Success Initiative. BSC is also designated by GI Jobs for 2015 Military Friendly and a Military Advanced Education Top School for military affiliated students.
