The newly formed national chapter of the Student Veterans of America at Berkeley College, known as the Berkeley Troops, has been accepted to march in this year’s Veterans Day Parade in New York City, NY. Berkeley College is proud to announce that the Berkeley Troops, a newly recognized as a member chapter of the national Student Veterans of America (SVA) coalition, has been accepted to march in this year’s Veterans Day Parade in New York City, NY.

 “The students are enthusiastic about this opportunity,” said Rachel Hodgson, MSEd, NCC, Berkeley College Coordinator of Veterans Support Services in the Office of Military and Veterans Affairs.  “Student motivation has enabled our young group to organize this network. The administration also has been wonderful with its support.”

 The officers for the SVA chapter are Edwin Gomez of the Bronx, president; Fred Quinones, vice president; and Tamika Thompson, secretary, both of Brooklyn, NY.
