Program Recognizes Students for Excellence and Service

Six Honors Scholars received awards for academic excellence, outstanding thesis, or community service, during the Honors Program Graduate Reception, held on September 16 at the Chart House in Weehawken, NJ. All 38 Honors Scholars received Certificates of Completion and honor cords to be worn with their caps and gowns at Commencement.

Stephen Wolf, PhD, Professor, English, School of Liberal Arts, received the 2014 Faculty Excellence Award. The award recognized Dr. Wolf’s contribution to the Honors Program by sharing his extensive knowledge of New York City, supporting the 2013-2014 program theme, “Rediscovering New York City.” During the program, Dr. Wolf led the scholars on numerous educational tours of the city.

Edima-Mandu Etuk an international student from Nigeria who currently resides in White Plains, NY, received the 2014 Outstanding Honors Scholar Alumni Award, which recognizes her continued excellence, professionalism and service to Berkeley College. Ms. Etuk, who graduated from Berkeley College in 2013 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Health Services Management, is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree in Healthcare Administration at Pace University. She recounted her time in the Honors Program, calling it “a defining experience.”
