LIM College Students Win $10,000 in Amazon Fashion Studio Sessions Challenge

Winner_WomenswearLIM College’s womenswear team took second place in this year’s Amazon Fashion Studio Sessions. Rufina Yusupova, Danielle Pujia, Marisa Karenchak, Maleeka Harmon, and Danielle Kassof will split a $10,000 cash prize for their efforts in the third annual creative competition for top New York-area fashion students.

The competition to create an editorial campaign image styled with merchandise from Amazon Fashion’s holiday-season fashion closet (in just one day) was held October 17 in Amazon Fashion’s state-of-the-art studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

Berkeley College Announces Transition to Semester-Based Academic Calendar

BerkeleyCollegeBerkeley College is in the process of converting its academic calendar to a semester system from a quarter system. The change will take effect in June 2016, pending regulatory approval. Under the new system, an academic year will be comprised of two semesters, rather than three quarters. In a calendar year, students will have the ability to take courses over three semesters instead of four quarters.

“Berkeley College is committed to the success of our students and we are confident the semester-based calendar will have a positive impact on student outcomes,” said Michael J. Smith, Berkeley College President.
