Mary McDonough, PhD, will become the Provost of Berkeley College, effective July 1, 2015.

Mary McDonough, PhD, will become the Provost at Berkeley College, effective July 1, 2015. Dr. McDonough will assume the position vacated by the former Provost, Marianne P. Vakalis, EdD, who will assume a new role as Dean of Strategic Initiatives. Under the direction of the President, the Provost serves as the chief academic officer of the College.

“Dr. McDonough’s varied background, as well as her in-depth knowledge and appreciation of the Berkeley College community, and her passion for our students and faculty, make her especially qualified to become our Provost at Berkeley College,” said Michael J. Smith, President of Berkeley College. “She takes the academic helm at a time when Berkeley College offers students many choices and opportunities for career success.”

Dr. McDonough joined the Berkeley College faculty as a member of the Business Department in 2000. She has instructed in general business subjects such as management, organizational behavior, staffing, leadership and strategy for online and onsite classes. She also has served as Vice President, Academic Affairs, for Berkeley College in White Plains, NY, and as Vice President, Academic Affairs, for Dover Business College. She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses both onsite and online at other institutions, including the College of Saint Elizabeth, Seton Hall University, the University of Nebraska and Upper Iowa University.
